LOTS AND LOTS OF SNOW!

We have had..LOTS AND LOTS of snow this week!
We have had between 12-15 inches! And BITTERLY cold weather!!!
Brrrrr.... That's Iowa for ya!

More snow!!! This is our deck!

At about...oh...midnight, I decided to go out and measure the snow...and that was the first day of our blizzard!

I got even more bundled up today! It was -6 but with wind chill it was -20!!!

This is just a little glimpse to hold you over tell later!!
I'll be posting more pictures of the snow, and our Christmas decorations later!

Weather/Fathers Day/Concert :)

Well, we had some very interesting weather the other night, totally NOT fun, sirens blew, basement, really windy, thoughts that a tornado had touched down. Stuff of the sort that comes with Spring and summer that I hate!!!! Well... we got through it, and there was no tornado.

Just some limbs down and STILL very windy!! SO HERE ARE SOME PICS..... I actully took this at the concert. the weather was so beautiful outside, I took this picture.

4TH OF JULY!

fun!

Hey all thought I'd post,
We got our pool up yesterday! I was excited! We have LOTS of floaties for our pool! (any floatie lovers out there?) But I jumped in the pool yesterday! It was really cold, and it probably wasn't the warmest day to swim. it was nice out. but really windy our floaties were flying everywhere! But it was eventful! Also we went to our local fair, to a talent show, that was really fun.
And the other night there was a tornado warning, they told us on the radio they thought they saw one touch down about 10 min. from our house!!! We were in the basement. and it was REALLY windy outside! When we got upstairs there were a number of limbs that were down in our yard! I'll have some pictures coming up here soon of stuff you'll just have to wait and see! So hold on tight!

IHA and Misc!

Hello Everyone!

I thought I'd post because, it will be my last post! ! Don't get scatterbrained! I'm just kidding!

But it will be my last post tell the 21 or the 22. Because we are leaving for Holiness camp tomorrow morning! I'm WAY excited, I seriously have X's on my calender marking down the days! (is that ridiculous or what!) we all have been looking forward to camp and when its here we are SO excited! But anyway , I thought I'd post .

Well I can't give you any pictures because are computer has been acting dumb lately and won't let me upload any pictures! So I'll write what i was going to picture!

Well Pittsburgh won the championship!!!! They are the 2009 Stanley cup CHAMPIONS! (pro hockey team league!) GO THEM! Great job guys! You DEFEATED the HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! Detroit Red Wings...... GO PITTSBURGH!!!!! If you can't tell, Detroit is our LEAST favorite team in the league! their fans also have way bad sportsmanship! Booing when someone gets hurt booing when Pittsburgh won instead of Detroit! And we just don't like the team in general! Well that takes care of the hockey season! But i will say that Detroit made a good comeback last night but it wasn't good enough! And through the playoffs I think Pittsburgh will be my new favorite team in the league for next season!

And our Black Hawks, our team in a town near by. This is no longer pro. They were beat out in the first round!

I no this is a random post but hey, it's something right?

Thank God, our garage sale went well! We are so thankful it turned out alright!

Oh and pray for Good weather at our camp please! weather in our town has been rainy for the past week or two. and I'm sick of it! we all are hoping praying, for good weather at camp!

while I'm gone, I encourage you to NOT leave my blog. Even though this might be my last post for a week or so, please take time, to go through my old posts, old pictures and fun times! until I get back. then you will get a post from IHA! And I promise it will be the 21 or the 22! I feel bad, because I've been slacking of on my blog lately, but when I get back, I'll post more often and post more pictures! I know my blog needs improvement, so please comment telling me what you would like to see posted more often on my blog. or polls or any ideas you might have! Please let me know! and even if you don't know, COMMENT ANYWAY!

Tornado warnings. PLEASE READ!

Well.... It all started.... Yesterday,
Yesterday We had quite the experience at church!! !!
I was frightened to death!
Sunday night we go to church. We live in the old parsonage of the church so we are right next door. So... We walk over to church and it is raining. It had been pouring, thundering,lightning, and windy basically non-stop all day! Well... I got to church and my friend tells me we are in a tornado watch(later I found out it was actually a warning!). I didn't think much about it. Then Pastor came to the pulpit and said, "If the sirens were to go off, we need to head out through the choir doors and down into the choir room. That is the safest place to be,'cause its underground." Well.... then I started to get a little nervous. Sure enough while pastor was praying for the offering, the sirens went off. Pastor didn't hear them at first, but I did and got up and went to the back to mom and asked her if we could go home! Yeah I know it sounds dumb, but remember we only live next door. I wanted to get home, not only would I feel better, but we could get our pets to the basement too. She said, "No we are going to the basement here." So we walked through the choir doors and down the steep stairs. I took a glimpse outside, thinking Who knows?? It might be our last!! Well... we got downstairs, said a prayer, and we all sang Jesus Loves Me. Then we hung in tight. Someone who was watching upstairs said it was absolutely down-pouring! A friend was getting calls on her cellphone and said in a town nearby a tornado had just touched down!!
Yeah that got my heart rate up a little bit! Well... then she got another call saying that in another town close by it was pitch black, hailing, and VERY WINDY!!! So there we sat! Pastor said that once the storm passed he suggested that we all go home. He wasn't going to be preaching tonight. So everyone waited. Then after we had been downstairs for about 20-30 minutes, the weather radio said that the warning would expire in a few minutes.
We decided it was good enough to run home! A lot of people came up to look out the doors to see if they wanted to venture out in this! We were also in a flash flood warning and the front sidewalk was full with water and mud! Quite the combination huh? So I put a plastic sack on my head and we ventured out. Once we walked out it started raining pretty hard again. So... we ran down the ramp and tried to scurry home as fast as we could. When we got in we were all VERY WET!! We got inside and turned the news on. It said another tornado touched down in Wisconsin and many other places. But we were going to be fine! The warning was over and the tornado in the nearby town went the other direction!! PRAISE THE LORD! So we got in some dry clothes and played a game!
It felt like something you would see in a movie or something! So that was the extent of our evening!
Please be praying for the people who did have damage from the recent tornadoes.
